JOAN BARBARÀ AND STUDIO 46: THE SCHOOL OF MASTERS

Group Exhibition · September 2025 · Salomon Arts Gallery, Tribeca

The centerpiece was Joan Barbarà's GUERNIKA (1987), his monumental tribute to Picasso, his friend and collaborator. Created in pure copper through masterful engraving techniques, shown for the first time in Manhattan. Only a few editions remain. Alongside GUERNIKA, works by Ron Silver and Juliana Plexxo showing the results of their residencies at the legendary printmaking workshop founded by Joan Barbarà that shaped modern printmaking alongside Miró, Dalí, Chagall, and Picasso himself. Hosted by Salomon Arts Gallery, Tribeca's iconic hub for groundbreaking art since the 1970s.

DOHART made this collaboration possible, brokering the connection between Studio 46 Barcelona and Salomon Arts Gallery in New York, coordinating the international logistics for the works' arrival, and drafting the consignment contracts and loan extensions that allowed a historic piece like GUERNIKA to travel and be exhibited abroad. It was a strategic exhibition: three artists across generations, two legendary spaces, one transatlantic dialogue.
