BCN meets NYC
April 23rd, 2025 - Tribeca, NYC
BCN Meets NYC brought together two artists whose connection was forged in one of Barcelona's most legendary creative spaces, Studio 46, and whose work, when placed side by side, revealed an unexpected and powerful dialogue between two cities, two continents, and two distinct artistic visions.
Ron Silver, a New York-based painter, presented a series of paintings capturing the dynamic essence of New York City. Rooted in American folk art, Renaissance influence, and Japanese aesthetics, his work moves between urban intensity and deep admiration for the female form and cultural tradition.
Juliana Plexxo, a Colombian artist based in Barcelona, recognized by Forbes as one of the 50 Most Creative People in 2022 and nominated Young Talent of the Year by Berkeley University in California, the first Colombian artist to receive that distinction, exhibited her collection ‘Real Gold’: a series of etchings and paintings that challenge traditional notions of wealth, drawing from indigenous Latin American worldviews and the spiritual relationship between humanity and nature.
The two artists first met at Studio 46 in Barcelona -the historic printmaking atelier of Joan Barbarà, where Miró, Tàpies, Dalí, and Richard Hamilton once worked. A shared admiration for those masters and for the long creative bridge between New York and Barcelona sparked an immediate connection that found its natural expression in this exhibition.
DOHART produced the event in its entirety, from transforming Ron Silver's Manhattan studio into a curated exhibition space, designing and setting the seating area, coordinating catering, securing wine sponsorship, and managing all sound production, as well as creating & printing the catalogs, setting up the online payment website for purchases, and ensuring every detail of the experience matched the caliber of the work on the walls.
